Basketball Academy

Midland High School Head Boy's Basketball Coach Matt O'Brien recently held the Midland Basketball Academy. During the week several awards were given out.

Reminders

MS Softball starts on Monday!!! You must have a physical on file in the office and have completed online registration. If you have not done so, you will NOT be allowed to participate until all requirements been met!

HS GBB Outing

Last Friday the Midland High School Girl's Basketball held a team outing with friends and family at the Peoria Chiefs baseball game!

Golf Meeting

There will be an informational high school golf meeting for any student athlete and their parents on July 27 at 5:30pm at Midland High School. 

Physicals

All students must have a physical if they entering 6th or 9th grade. Those school physicals will cover your athletic physical as well. Each athletic physical lasts for 395 days. Athletes cannot participate in any activity with out it. If you haven't done so already, get the physicals turned in ASAP! 

Also, we are really getting a lot of registrations in now! Any athlete who doesn't have one will be pulled from their practice until they have completed it.

July 20 - RV Football Camp Starts

July 22 - MS Softball Parent Meeting 6:30pm @ Lacon Park Pool 

July 22 - MS Baseball Open Field Night 6-7:30pm @ Lacon Park Pool

July 27 - MS Softball 1st Practice 8am-11am @ Lacon Park Pool

August 3 - MS Baseball 1st Practice 8am - 10am @ Lacon Park Pool

August 10 - HS Football Starts 4pm - 6pm, Parent Meeting 6pm

August 12 - HS VB, Cross Country and Golf start

Remember, physicals must be turned in and registration completed BEFORE any athlete will be allowed to participate!

Fall Baseball and Softball

PARENTS ----- Fall Baseball and Softball are rapidly approaching. Please be aware of the following details:

1) There will be a Parent Meeting for Softball on July 22. The meeting will be at 6:30pm and will take place at the Lacon Park Pool.

2) There will be an Open Field Night for Baseball on July 22. Any interested 6th, 7th or 8th grade boy may come out to the Lacon Park Pool field to get a few swings in and to shag a few fly balls.
Coach Williams will be out there from 6pm until 7:30pm.

3) Softball's first practice will be on July 27 from 8am until 11am.

4) Baseball's first practice will be on August 3 from 8am until 10am.

5) ALL ATHLETES MUST HAVE A CURRENT PHYSICAL (new in the past 395 days) ON FILE IN THE OFFICE AND COMPLETED THE ONLINE REGISTRATION TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE!

Update

We are doing so great. Almost 80 student athletes have registered. We have had a few more people sign up for the daily email blast. This was my goal when I decided to undertake this great process to make sure all key stakeholders had the information they need. Don't forget to take a look at the Google Calendar feature on this site. As we get closer to school starting we will be posting practice schedules to the calendar. The calendar can be incorporated into almost any Calendar program that you have on your computer, smart phone or tablet. If you have questions, don't hesitate to let us know.

Athletic Registration

We are up to almost 60 student athletes and their parents who have completed the online registration. Let's see if we can get that number closer to 100 this week! Keep spreading the word! If you have any questions please contact my office at 309-469-3131! 

Registration

Just a friendly reminder that Registration is tomorrow at the Middle School from 12:30pm until 8:00pm. There will be a spot for any athletic parents to complete the new online registration while you are here registering for school. We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

Midland Invitational

Midland High School is excited for the first ever Midland Volleyball Invitational. On August 29 seven teams will join Midland for a day full of great volleyball competition. There will be two pools utilizing both the Middle School gym and the High School gym.
